All NFPL First Team
All NFPL First Team
Congratulations to the 2021/22 All NFPL First Team players! For outstanding performances that earned the appreciation and attention of players, fans, and managers, these players stood above the competition.
Goalkeeper - Robert Damron
Anchoring the back line of the All NFPL First Team is Robert Damron of Michigan Futsal Factory Academy. Futsal Factory Academy finished the regular season in third place with a +3 goal differential, the only other team with a positive GD besides the two finalists, and the 3rd-best goals allowed record in the league.
Damron was the winner of the NFPL Golden Glove for his performances this season, as well as a Player of the Week Award and was part of the February Team of the Month in a fantastic individual campaign.
Fixo - Bennett Kouame
You could say that nobody else in the league caught the eye as consistently as Bennett Kouame did this season for Joy Athletic. Bennett won more individual Man of the Match awards than anybody else, a Goal of the Month Award in January, had several other finishes make it into the Goal of the Month nominee pools, and was the first name on the January Team of the Month.
Kouame led Joy Athletic to a second place regular season finish and came in second in the playoffs, winning the NFPL Golden Ball in the process.
Ala - Jorge Guinovart
Ginga FS ala Jorge Guinovart joins the All NFPL First Team after a great season for the Cincinnati futsal side, scoring dozens of goals and leaving his mark on nearly every game he played in. Guinovart made the February Team of the Month after a string of eye-catching displays in the early part of the season.
Ala - Daniel Diaz
Daniel Diaz of NFPL Champions Grand Rapids OLé makes the All NFPL First Team as he helped his team score an NFPL record 127 goals over the course of the season.
Diaz won a Player of the Week Award on the way to becoming an NFPL champion on the league's best team.
Pivo - Adrian Diaz
Daniel's twin Adrian Diaz also makes the All NFPL First Team in addition to winning the NFPL Golden Boot Award, scoring almost 30 goals this season on the Grand Rapids OLé team that destroyed almost everybody that they came into contact with.
Diaz also won a Player of the Week Award as he led the line for the league's most lethal offense and was a member of the February Team of the Month, winning the Golden Boot Award in an exemplary individual season.
Manager - Fabian Rodriguez
Grand Rapids OLé Manager Fabian Rodriguez leads the All NFPL First Team after overseeing his team's regular season first-place finish that ultimately resulted in an NFPL Championship.
Rodriguez was the manager of the January Team of the Month as well as the March Team of the Month as OLé finished an incredible 11-1-0 campaign with the league's best offense and defense.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to all of the players and the manager on the All NFPL First Team!
