MATCHWEEK 13 PREVIEW: PLAYOFF RACE INTENSIFIES IN BOTH DIVISIONS

As the NFPL regular season winds down, Matchweek 12 could prove to be a decisive weekend with key matchups in both divisions. The Midwest’s two top teams will face off as Futsal Factory Academy hosts Cadence SFC, while in the Southwest, BRUSA FC and New Mexico Flagship FC will clash twice in a crucial doubleheader that could reshape the playoff picture.

INTER DETROIT (H) VS. CADENCE SFC (A)

Inter Detroit returns home for a crucial matchup against Cadence SFC, still searching for their first win of the season. At 0-5, the Michigan-based squad has shown flashes of potential, scoring goals in every game, but defensive lapses have cost them. With their final home match of the season, Inter will be looking to break through and end their losing streak in front of their home crowd.

Meanwhile, Cadence SFC (2-2) enters this game needing a win to keep pace in the Midwest Division playoff race. Their last game—a 5-3 loss to Futsal Factory Academy—left them in a precarious position, with Inter Detroit still capable of playing spoiler. With Futsal Factory Academy already locking up the top seed, Cadence must secure three points here to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

Can Inter Detroit finally find their breakthrough, or will Cadence SFC tighten its grip on the second playoff spot?

NEW MEXICO FLAGSHIP FC (H) VS. COLORADO FUTSAL ACADEMY (A)

The Southwest Division race is wide open, and this matchup will play a huge role in determining playoff positioning. New Mexico Flagship FC (3-4) is coming off a tough doubleheader loss to BRUSA FC, but with this game on home turf, they’ll be desperate to get back in the win column. Their attacking firepower has been on display all season, but depth and second-half fatigue have cost them key points.

Colorado Futsal Academy (4-2) remains firmly in the Southwest title hunt, but with BRUSA FC sitting at the top of the table, they can’t afford to drop points. Last time out, Colorado pulled off an epic 8-7 comeback win over Santa Fe Gloom, proving they can handle pressure situations. Expect Beckan Ovalles and Jesus Guillen to be key playmakers as they look to control the tempo on the road.

A win for New Mexico keeps them alive in the playoff race, while a victory for Colorado puts them level on points with BRUSA FC heading into the final stretch. Something has to give.
